I only went out for toothpaste...!

All I needed was toothpaste, but in my uncontrollable fashion, here are some extras that I just happened to have to have!
.
Now I am not to blame for this, this is all due to Holly's recent post, I needed to try Collection 2000's new nail polish in Dynasty and it was two for £3, so I also picked up Hula Hoop (love the name!). I have Dynasty on my nails now and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and it drys super fast, and I am so impatient so this is a great quality for a varnish to have.
.

Next I meandered over to the Barry M counter and picked up a Lip Paint in 101, now I have never tried Barry M Lipsticks before, are these good? I was a bit shocked at the lime green coloured one they had, needless to say this was not one I was going to purchase!

Then I decided that I needed a new mascara and had heard good things about Rimmel's Sexy Curves, so picked this up in Intense Black. I am a major mascara snob, I am very very picky so this will be interesting to see how I get on with.

So that was all my purchases today, and yes I did get some toothpaste too! I would be interested to hear any of your thoughts on my buys of today, and whether you have tried them?

NARS Bridal Palette

I have been wanting to expand my NARS collection but due to the nearest stockist being Bluewater in Kent, I have had to restrain myself, until I decided to take the plunge and order the Bridal Palette from the NARS website, which were offering free postage and packing.
.
It isn't as cheap as say MAC, at £46.00 but I thought to myself that for four eyeshadows, a highlighter, blush and four lip colours it was actually not bad.
.
The eyeshadow are all really wearable for me, clockwise from top left we have Nepal (rose with shimmer), Ondine (plum with gold shimmer), Edie (cream with shimmer) and Night Fever (black with red pearls).

My first impression of the eyeshadows is how easy they are to blend and the longevity of them. The colour payoff isn't quite as per the pan and I find that Nepal in particular you really have to layer to pack on the colour.

The highlighter and blush are beautiful, top is Albatross and bottom Orgasm.

The lip colours I also really love, clockwise from top left we have Mitzi, Baby Doll, Sexual Healing and Roman Holiday.
.

All in all I was pleased with this palette and would definitely invest in some more NARS goodies, the colours in this selection really work if you are blonde like I am and I would recommend it as a first purchase so you can get a look into the range by trying a few things.

For all those NARS enthusiasts out there, can you recommend any other NARS products I should try?

Colour Craft

So sorry for the lack of updates this week, I have been really busy at work so when I got home every evening I was just shattered.

Therefore, I realise that I am slightly behind on the Colour Craft post, but hey ho, I will show you the bits I ordered anyway, which arrived on Monday.

Firstly, I was obsessed with the promotional photos for this collection and it was really the first collection since the tackiness of Hello Kitty that really got me excited, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the end.

I ordered MSF Trios in Triple Fusion and Smooth Merge:-

Natural Flare quad and MSF in Porcelain Pink:-

I was sold on the concept of the MSF Trios but in actual fact I think that they are too shimmery, the chunks of shimmer are big and they are hard to work with in my opinion and the most use I have had from these this week is eyeshadow! If you have any tips on how I can get these to work please let me know, maybe I should be applying them with a different brush?
.
Triple Fusion:-

Smooth Merge:-

The shadow quad I am still undecided about, but the easiest way to apply it that I have found so far is with my fingers, a brush just leads to too much fallout, again, any tips?
.
Natural Flare:-

The only thing that I have been 100% pleased with is the MSF in Porcelain Pink. I realise that this was a re-promote from a previous collection and a lot f you would already have this in your collections but as a fairly new MAC'aholic it was new to me! I love this colour, it really suits my skin tone and looks really pretty on and I got quite a few compliments when I wore it to work this week.

Porcelain Pink:-

My regrets of this collection are getting too carried away with the MSF's and neglecting the Colour Crafted lipstick and the 226 and 131 brushes. Hopefully next time I will have learnt my lesson!
