Messy messy

I've been trying to perfect the messy bun for a while now. I've finally cracked it! The tools you will need are a curling iron or flat iron, clear hair elastic, hair pins and hair spray.

Here's some of what you will need...

First messily curl your hair all over. For time sake I prefer to use a flat iron (GHD) but you could also use something like my new purchase. A beloved curling iron!

Optional you can tease your roots at the crown to add a bit more oomph, then tie your hair back loosely in a low pony tail. Making sure you have a few tendrils of hair at the front.

Loosen the pony tail between the hair elastic and your head and divide in the middle, flip the hair into this gap and over itself and tighten up.

Gather the pony tail together and twist it up into a bun and secure with hair pins.

Pull down any pieces of hair you want to make the look more messy and curl them again if necessary.

Spritz with some hairspray!

Finally if you want to dress this up add some pretty hair accessories such as a flower clip or sparkly clip.

I love this look, it's so effortless and yet looks "done". Perfect for that second day hair!

  4. very nice, if only my hair was a bit longer. How are the little scunci clear bands? I've had these types of bands before but they were rubbish and snapped, I love the scunci brand and everything I've bought from them has been great quality so I imagine these would be quite good? x
