June favourites and another new foundation

Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray
Such a sickly sweet smell but I love it! It's not nearly as gag inducing as the Body Shop's Vanilla perfume, it's definitely got an edge to it. Yes Jo, a artificial plastic-smelling edge! I've been loving it anyway.

Garnier Summerbody Moisturising Lotion
I've been using this in-between using the St Tropez mousse and I really really like it. It's got a minimal biscuity smell and doesn't streak or go patchy, just keeps me nicely topped up with colour.

Body Shop Body Butter Due Floral Acai
Ingenious little body butter. One half is medium thick and gloopy and the other half is extremely thick and gloopy, one for all over and one for very dry bits like knees and elbows. I love it! The smell is also gorgeous, I want to try the Sweetpea fragrance next.

Estee Lauder Doublewear Cream Eyeshadow in Antique Gold
Creates the perfect bronze eye. This is all that needs to be said! Blends nicely and lasts all day.

Rimmel Eyeshdow Pencil in Hazel
My go to eyebrow pencil, Couldn't be without it this month, my brows would be a complete mess otherwise!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencil in Smoke
Great on the lower lashline. It has a smudger on one end and the pencil on the other so I can create a more daytime look or a smokey night look with the same product.

And then...

...because I clearly have a problem, I bought yet another foundation this week. Vichy Dermablend. Which was £15.50 from Boots. All I'm saying so far is that it's blown Dior Forever out of the water. Dermablend is what I wanted Forever to be - at half the price!

I must give myself a stern talking to NO MORE FOUNDATION. Or at least until next time!

Saturday FOTD

I don't think I've actually shown my face here on my blog for a while now, so here goes...

If you're at all interested I am wearing Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation, Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, Mac Golden Bronzer, Nars Orgasm blusher, Rimmel Eyebrow pencil, Mac Blacktrack liner, Mac Patina eyeshadow with a lighter colour of (which I have no idea of the name!) in the inner corner and lots of Maybelline mascara (the newest one - clearly having a blonde day with names!), on my lips I have Mac Hue. It's nothing particularly daring but then I'm not really that exciting when it comes to makeup - no bright eyeshadow for me thank you!

I'm wearing my new(ish) top/dress from Warehouse which I've got my mum to take up so it's more of a tunic length with some Topshop leggings and black ballet pumps from Primarni. I am so cold in this outfit, but I'm wearing it anyway!! What's wrong with the weather?? Rumour has it that tomorrow will be nice but I'll believe that when I see it.

I'm just off out to meet my friend for lunch in town, so I hope you all have lovely Saturdays! What are you all up to?

Big disappointment

Don't you just love it when you buy a £33.00 foundation and hate it? Note my sarcasm! This has happened to me on many occasions but most recently with Chanel's Pro Lumiere foundation.

The reasons for my dislike for this foundation are:-

1. It is too greasy. I don't have particularly oily skin, just the usual t-zone being the main culprit but this is too greasy and slides about and never looks set. To go along with this, it's shiny, and when I try to set it with powder it then looks cakey and drenching myself in Mac Fix+ still doesn't improve it! Maybe it would be better for the Winter, perhaps the warm weather doesn't do it any favours?

2. The colour (020 Clair). It's too pinky for me, and makes me look ruddy. Yet the lighter colour is too white.

3. The longevity. Doesn't wear that well for me, I've tried it with Mac Prep and Prime and it's still not improved.

4. The application. How is best to apply this? I've used a flat foundation brush (Mac and Bobbi Brown) a flat topped brush (Sigma) a duo fibre (Mac) my fingers and a sponge. It's just not as perfect looking on as Mac Studio Fix Fluid.

I wore it the other day and it actually made be feel so self concious with my makeup, I had a really bad day at work! I know it may sound silly and shallow, but having a nice flawless base is probably the most important thing for me and I just felt ugly and not at all confident, that's when I knew that I had to go back to Mac's Studio Fix Fluid for the rest of the week.

My lovely Mum bought me Dior Forever foundation today which I am hoping will be a million times better!

Have you tried Pro Lumiere? What are your thoughts?

Recent beauty buys

I hope you're all doing well ladies? I've been lacking in blogging inspiration lately hence the lack of posts from me, sorry about that. Anyway if you hadn't already noticed, I've given my blog a bit of a makeover and this spurred me on to post on the recent beauty buys I have accumulated over the past few weeks. Lets get started!

Boots Vitamin E Moisture Lotion SPF15 : £2.85 - this is my second tube of this which I use every morning. It smells yummy, moisturises really well, sits great under my makeup and is super affordable!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion : £10.21 - I bought this in the hope that it would help with large pores, we will see.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner : £6.99 each - I loved the packaging of these and have been keen to try a shampoo and conditioner without sulphates for a while now. So far I really like them both!

Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation : £33.00 - I have been wanting to try one of the Chanel foundations for a while now and thought I would like the Mat Lumiere but when I tested them in Fenwicks I much preferred the consistency of the Pro.

Astral Light and Creamy All Over Moisturiser : £4.28 - I needed a new night cream and thought I'd give this a try.

Dove Visible Care Body Wash : £3.00 (ish) - I wanted to see whether this really could make your skin super soft after 7 days of use, it's only been 3 so far so I'll reserve judgement for now!

St Ives Blemish Fighting Facial Scrub : £4.19 - needed a new face scrub and hadn't used this for years so thought's I'd give it another whirl!

What have you been buying lately?
