I received a sample size of this in a feelunique.com beauty box. I was very excited to try it out, I had heard a lot of good things about it through other bloggers and also from watching QVC (guilty pleasure).
Pre-shampoo intensive moisturising treatment that delivers elasticity and bounce to hair. Also provides UV protection even after washing, helping prolong the life of colour treatments. Visible results from one application that improves with continued use. Fragrance free.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer should always form part of your routine to continuously improve or maintain the quality and behaviour of your hair. Extremely broken, damaged hair – whether the result of chemical over processing, physical trauma or poor health, will also improve with concentrated use of Elasticizer. More frequent use of this intensive treatment formula will restore suppleness, elasticity, shine and bounce.
To apply this you have to wet your hair without shampooing and then apply it in sections. I comb my damp hair with a wide toothed comb and section up the top half and apply in two sections to the underneath of my hair, in pig tails twisting the sections together as I go, then do exactly the same to the top. I then clip it all up and put a shower cap on over the top and leave it for 20 minutes. After this time you shampoo and condition as usual.
It's a pleasant enough product, it leaves my hair shiny and bouncy, more so the first time I used it. It's a little bit of a faff to apply, it doesn't take that long but it isn't the quickest of processes. I like my hair products to have a scent and the fact that this is fragrance free doesn't make it seem very luxurious (I prefer the Macadamia Oil Mask) and also something that I am becoming more aware of lately are parabens and this product contains them (something that the Macadamia Oil Mask does not).
It's not something I'd repurchase to be honest. It was pleasant enough to use but I'd rather buy something that I don't have to use as a pre-shampoo treatment because this was a little time consuming, and I'd also rather have something that smells nice and I'd prefer to limit the number of products I use that contain parabens. It didn't make my hair feel that fantastic that I'd pay for a full size. It's not cheap either.
Have you tried this? What are your thoughts?
