If you follow me on Twitter you will already know that I am on a Boots ban (spending ban in general really!). I've said this before but it's amazing at how much money you can spend in that shop! Last month for instance I bought 2 foundations on complete whims and didn't like them, well that was £20.00 down the drain! Whereas if I'm looking to invest in a high-end foundation I'll really do my research and get samples to try before parting with my hard earned cash. More thought is put into a purchase when it's a bit more expensive and to be honest I'm fed up of all the impulse buys.
The money I spend in Boots on little things can really add up and I could have bought something much nicer from NARS or Laura Mercier, okay not in vast quantities but still, one or 2 expensive things are nicer than a ton of rubbish! Along the same lines, I am going to be embarking on project empty. Who on earth needs 6 variants of shampoo and conditioner (me apparently!) I don't know so now is the time to use them all up before I buy more. These are the latest victims:-
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter, Lush Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar, MAC Lip Conditioner, Benefit Her Glossiness Lipglos, Bourjois Volumizer Mascara, L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo, Radox Shower Smoothie and Queen of Shaves Shaving Gel.
I'm feeling really good about this! I'm loving seeing my basket of goodies in my bathroom go down! I'm planning a big shopping trip to Bluewater at the end of April to get some nice Spring clothes and makeup so will be keeping my spending to a minimum, if anything this month.
You've have used up so much this month I really need to use up more stuff! Did you like the bourjois mascara, as it is one I always look to buy xo
ReplyDeleteNo it was not for me I'm afraid, I was quite pleased when it finally dried up! I have friends who have loved it though. xx
DeleteI thought having at least six half emoty bottles of shampoo was perfectly normal! Ok maybe its not, I need to seriously use what I have as well.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I am exactly the same! Hair products are my vice. xx
DeleteI should probably join you in doing this. I cannot stay out of Boots at all! I want to try and use up all my 'cheaper' blushers so I can justify buying Mac ones! I'm the same with buying higher end products and research yet spending £30 a time on bits and bobs! Please let us know what lovely things you buy at the end of your spending ban! Good luck x x
ReplyDeleteThe satisfaction you get in walking straight past Boots is amazing! I will be sure to do a haul post :) xx
